1. Each AYSO (youth) volunteer must have a separate Sports Connect account (SCA)

2. Each volunteer SCA has unique email address.

3. AYSO volunteer application is completed annmually in the SCA.

4. The Parent/Guardian:
= creates an SCA before the Youth Volunteer creates SCA and completes Youth Volunteer Application.
= e-signs the youth volunteer application.
= Does not have to be an AYSO volunteer but it is recommended to motivate youth volunteers and support them.

5. The AYSO youth volunteer application can be for any type of volunteer but there may be age restrictions for the job.

6. All (youth) volunteers complete courses: 1. annually Safe Haven, 2. bi-annually the CDC concussion awareness, 3.Sudden Cardiac Arrest one time.

7. Depending on job some other requirements may have to be completed by the volunteer before they can start working

8. Youth volunteers do not require a background check but must annually register as AYSO youth volunteer

9. Adult volunteers will receive a background ground check. This is not free but the region will pay for each volunteer one time per year.

NOTE: Volunteers receive an invitation from a company like Sterling to complete online questionnaire and make payment.
= Complete the instructions on the Sterling website, 

= When it comes to payment click on the option "pay later." Our region 73 will receive an invoice.

10 Recommend print / screenshot after completing the Sterling process and complete payment section.

11.AYSO volunteers cannot start working unless they have completed all required training and received the certifications required for the job.
NOTE: This requirement is related to the volunteer protection act.

12.Volunteers are responsible to keep track of their course credits and the dates they attended courses. Save all course certificates.

NOTE: Recommend for in-person courses that you take notes of:
name of the instructor, date, time, location, and make a picture of the attendance sheet as soon as you have signed in.
It helps to have names of classmates.

13. Enroll ONLINE in the courses. No walk-ins unless the instructor has been advised in advance with reason why Online registration is not possible.
NOTES:
Instructors cannot guarantee they can add students to the roster if they have not signed up online.

IMMEDIATELY if you have not received credit for a course in 96 hours contact the instructor and give all relevant information.
Most instructors close the rosters in 1 business day unless special circumstances dictate otherwise. So please verify your credits as soon as possible.
