FIELDS We play at the Kaiser Permanente Bakersfield Sports Village on 9001 Ashe Road. Do not send mail to this address. Our POBOX address is listed at the home page of our website. Up to 18 fields of various sizes can accommodate various age groups.
DIVISIONS Each division has its age appropriate soccer program. For young players we work on the fine and gross motor skills, hand eye and foot eye coordination. As with all AYSO programs fun and safe is promoted. For the older players AYSO train coaches to develop players soccer skils, team formation, tactical plays and valuable character development which includes good sportsmanship and team play.
The Core program is designed for fun, fair and safe. Jamboree (this combines the Playground 3 years and Schoolyard 4 years) Divisions: 6U for 5, 8U for 6 & 7, 10U for 8 &9, 12U for 10 & 11, 14U for 12 &13 Upper Divisions accomodates 14 and older. NOTE: If enough 14 and 15 years old players sign up then we can put them in division16U and the 17 and 18 years in 19U. For now we will keep them in the Upper Division.
COMPETITIVE PROGRAMS Besides the Core program AYSO has more competitive programs called EXTRA and AYSO United. These will only be available if coaches and parents will call for it and make it known to the regional board These programs require more volunteers and support and are more expensive than the core program. Teams will be travelling teams and support the core program while they develop their own program.
American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO)
The American Youth Soccer Organization was founded in the Los Angeles area in 1964. Since that time, the non-profit organization is the most successful youth programs and the largest with all volunteers with regions in all fifty states. AYSO has the mission: Provide world class youth soccer programs that enrich children's lives. AYSO's success is bases on its philosophies: Everyone Plays, Balanced Teams, Open Registration, Positive Coaching, Good Sportsmanship and Player Development. We promote development over winning and aim to create a family friendly atmosphere for our children/players enjoying a game of soccer. ASYO is a non-profit volunteer based program. None of your regional staff and board members are paid. We do not have paid referees or coaches. Parents and friends of our region are the main source providing the hands to run the regional soccer program. Sponsors help with covering the regional expenses to reduce membership costs.
PARENTS CAN HELP Parents are encouraged to participate by giving us helpful comments to improve our program, take the Survey on the registration page and as AYSO volunteer help with setting up, supporting or administering jobs/tasks and creating ideas to make the regional program better.
COMPLAINTS Complaints are negative thoughts but the regional board in many cases cannot do much with these complaints unless someone can determine and help to find a solution to improve circumstances and avoid recurrence. We do encourage good observations and reports from parents which promotes a safe, fun and fair kids zone.
